Everybody’s Nose I wish I could smell like a honey bee I’d smell all the flowers though 2 miles of trees. If I was a bear I could smell seal right through the ice. And food through a closed fridge, that might be nice. Most of our noses project off our faces Whether you are an animal or of the human races What does your nose know? Everybody’s nose My dog licks my leg and then she smells the lick, Sometimes I feel like a giant scratch and sniff My dog can smell 100,000 times better than me, Why does she get so close to smell her own pee. Most of our noses project off our faces Whether you are an animal or of the human race What does your nose know? Everybody’s nose (Sniffing begins) Everybody’s nose, Everybody’s nose It’s not just for show, everybody’s nose Everybody’s nose, everybody’s nose They continue to grow, everybody’s nose. Pigs can smell things 25’ feet underground. I wish I could smell my keys then they’d be easily found It’s said that snakes can taste the air with their tongues. And that humans have scent receptors about 5 million. Most of our noses project off our faces Whether you are an animal or of the human races What does your nose know? Everybody’s nose African elephants have the best nose hoses Kiwis have nostrils on the tips of their noses I once heard of a woman who could smell diseases Those are some amazing nasal cavities Most of our noses project off our faces Whether you are an animal or of the human races What does your nose know? Everybody’s nose Everybody’s nose, Everybody’s nose It’s not just for show, everybody’s nose Everybody’s nose, everybody’s nose They continue to grow, everybody’s nose.

about

After doing a kid’s album based on my aunt’s book, I wanted to make a kid’s album based on things that I thought kids would find interesting and fun. A lot of the songs are about making art and music and how fun that can be, how there are no mistakes. Or how you’ll be a lot of things in life and it’ll be the people you meet that are important. And the idea was to write a bunch of songs that I could perform using art and props as part of the performance. Sort of a cross over between my art and my music.
I wrote and arranged the songs over the pandemic. I was able to get Grant Siemens to help produce the album since all of his tours had been cancelled. He’s an incredible guitar player and has great ear for music, he’s been on many of my albums and was on my first album in 2003.
The Songs
Superfun(the single), was written by Roger Mollot. It’s a song about everyone playing and having fun! When we recording all the songs it was the last one on the list…it was near the end of the day, everyone was pretty tired. But when that guitar lick starts the whole band just got revved up and it blew all our hair back, becoming the title track.
The track Zoom Zoom is about a person in space looking for a new planet to live and he heads towards the Milky Way. He goes through all the planets and eventually discovers earth and finds his new home. Al Simmons plays all sorts of wacky invented instruments on this track and Keri Latimer adds some eerie theremin to it as well. In the studio there was a moment where Al was whirling a whirly-gig around in the air and Keri is ducking while playing the theremin.
H20 is a funny song about water and how important it is.
The Egg Song is a tongue twister patter piece about all the ways you can eat an egg
Believe it or not is a song about dinosaurs and the scientific method
Colours describes the primary colours and how they mix to make other colours and then finally a rainbow
Green is written by Jeanette Hammond, an art student of mine. It’s about a dream she had where everything was really, really, green. Even her dog.
What Should I Paint is a song about exactly that, the dreaded bank canvas and tips to know what to draw and paint
My Job is basically my resume in song form. The moral of the story is although I made money at all these places it’s really about the people you meet along the way
Everybody’s Nose is a song about all the noses in all the world.
How to Write a Song is a song about how to write a song.

My youngest son, Finn Culleton made the front cover Superfun logo. We’ve already made shirts and stickers!
